PROFILE

Boaz is making a song and dance over personal film

BOAZ Yakin’s latest film is his most personal yet. The director has made box office hits such as Remember the Titans, but his career has taken somewhat of an uneven trajectory — and he would not have it any other way.

Aviva, which will be available via Curzon Home Cinema, BFI Player and Barbican Cinema On Demand from next Friday, centres on Eden (Tyler Phillips and Bobbi Jene Smith) and Aviva (Zina Zinchenko and Or Schraiber), a passionate couple who are ultimately trying to make their relationship work.

The cast is made up entirely of dancers and features choreographed dance sequences — with the main two roles switching between male and female.
