YAEL Sherer enjoyed a seemingly idyllic childhood. Raised in Kokhav Ya’ir, in the centre of Israel, her South African-born mother was a nursery school teacher, while her father, Dr Moshe Sherer, worked for the Ministry of Agriculture.
Growing up with two older brothers, life was comfortable — or so she thought.
For it was all a facade as her father sexually abused his daughter for years.
