From his upbringing in Netanya to his frontline experiences in the Israel Defence Forces and his subsequent political endeavours, his journey embodies the resilience and spirit of the Israeli people.
The 45-year-old, who visited the Manchester Jewish community earlier this month, was born into a religious Zionist family.
His mother, Deborah, who was of Moroccan parentage, and his father, cardiologist Israel, who was born in Paris, emigrated to the Jewish state from France as they wanted their son to be born there.
