Couple grew up within 100 yards of each other

AMANDA Goldstone and Andy Ross grew up within 100 yards of each other in Unsworth, Bury - but only met for the first time two years ago after being introduced by one of Amanda's friends.

The couple were married at Craxton Wood Hotel, Chester, by Bury Hebrew Congregation's Rabbi Binyomin Singer.

Travel agent Amanda is the daughter of Helen Goldstone, of Unsworth, and the late Ray Goldstone, while Andy, a record producer, is the son of Rhonda and Peter Ross, of Unsworth.

Stepfather Gary Cohen was unterfuhrer for the bride. Best man was the groom's brother Adam Ross. Bridesmaids were the groom's nieces Isabella and Ava Ross. Pageboy was the bride's nephew Jamie Goldstone.

After a honeymoon in Mexico, the couple have settled in Radcliffe.


Jerusalem setting for wedding

FIVE years after meeting through mutual friends, Oshrit Hury and Ben Cowan were married at Beit Shmuel, Jerusalem.

Oshrit, the daughter of Jayne and Benny Hury, of Prestwich, and Ben, the son of Lynda and Henry Vellerman, of London, and Rozina and Malcolm Cowan, also of London, both work in fundraising.

Best man was the groom's brother Eliot.

Joining in the celebrations were the groom's grandparents Fay and Lewis Sugarman, as well as a large contingent of guests from the UK.

The couple have settled in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, and will honeymoon in Florida and the Caribbean later in the year.


Melody tunes in for peak party

THERE was definitely 'summit' great about Melody Bernhardt's batmitzvah.

For the King David High School pupil is a member of a local rock-climbing club.

The daughter of Mandy and Derek Bernhardt, of Crumpsall, the Manchester United fan also enjoys music, cooking, reading, science and sport.

She was part of her school's batmitzvah ceremony at the Higher Crumpsall and Higher Broughton Hebrew Congregation, before enjoying a party with her family and friends.

And joining in the celebrations were grandparents Pam and Ivor Jacobs and Doris Burrows.


Couple marry 20 years after Hillel meeting

YVONNE CHERNICK and Mark Isaacs first met 20 years ago at Hillel House, in Liverpool.

They were both studying at the city's John Moores University and became good friends.

But Cupid finally fired his arrow a year ago. Yvonne left her job in London and moved to Manchester.

And the couple were married at The London Syon Park Hotel by Rabbi Danny Bergson.

Human resources consultant Yvonne is the daughter of Dalia and Martin Chernick, of London, while auctioneer and chartered surveyor Mark is the son of Bobbie Isaacs, of Salford, and Izzy Gabel, of Florida.

Best man was Mark Weingard. Bridesmaids were Demi Gabel, Hannah Gabel, Ellie Chernick, Lila Chernick and Jasmine Chernick and pageboys, Daniel Gabel and Zachary Chernick.

Guests travelled from Spain, Switzerland, Israel, Australia, America and Italy. After a honeymoon in Israel the couple have settled in Salford.
