Double joy at synagogue

BRADFORD Hebrew Congregation had double cause to rejoice as twins Thomas and Nathaniel Keidan were barmitzvah.

The first barmitzvah of a member within the community for more than 25 years, the entire community was invited to celebrate the occasion.

And the boys’ family has a long association with the community.

Their maternal grandparents, Daphne and Gordon Couplan, were married in the city 56 years ago.

And today, Gordon is chairman of the Burial Committee as well as being on the shul council and Daphne is secretary of the synagogue.

Thomas and Nathaniel, sons of Jack Keidan and Danielle Couplan Keidan, attended Leeds Talmud Torah and were taught their parsha by Jeremy Conway.

Rev Stanley Abrahams officiated and president Albert Waxman made a presentation on behalf of the community.
