| Sun may have been absent, but Malta still packed a punch |

BY NATHAN JACOBS APPARENTLY, Malta enjoys 3,000 hours of sunshine every year, although a recent Jewish Telegraph trip to cover a tech and innovation event hosted by the Conference of European Rabbis did not provide the best weather.
Amid pockets of rain, wind and, admittedly, some minor sunshine, this small island off the coast of the Mediterranean still packed quite a punch. From St John’s Cathedral and the Blue Grotto to its three official UNESCO World Heritage Sites, there is much to see on this nation, 771 times smaller than the UK. Boasting 365 churches and chapels, something our tour guide joked meant one for every day of the year, it has a religious history practically unrivalled in Europe, with temples dating back beyond the Pyramids and Stonehenge.
