Rock band is dropped from Nuremberg show

HARD rock band Pantera have been dropped from the line up of a music festival near the site of Nazi rallies in Nuremberg.

Singer Philip Anselmo provoked outrage in January, 2016, at a tribute concert to the group’s murdered guitarist ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott.

Anselmo made a Nazi-style salute and also appeared to say “white power”.

Pantera were due to perform at Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park, two simultaneous rock festivals, from June 2-4, in Nürburgring and Nürnberg, respectively.

However, after intensive discussions, the festival promoters decided to remove Pantera from the bill.

German Green Party representatives said in the Nürnberg (Nuremberg) city council that Anselmo “repeatedly and deliberately made Nazi gestures and yelled racist slogans”.
