RUTH BRADBURY of Australia was amazed to find that fellow countryman Terry Newman was looking for her family.

‘‘It was such a surprise to find him in Sydney and me in Canberra,’’ Ruth says.

After witnessing the success of Roots Directory, she has placed her own appeal.

‘‘I would like to find any details and/or descendants of Morris (Moses) Joshua Jacobs and Kate (Catherine) Jacobs nee Abrahams (my great aunt) who were married in Seel Street Synagogue, Liverpool in February 1873,’’ she said.

‘‘They had at least three children born in West Derby/Liverpool. Joshua was born in 1876, Rosetta Kate in 1878 and Arthur Morris in 1880.’’

CARLA PENROSE Montie of Tennessee is searching for information on the Isaac-Farmer families. The Isaacs were from Liverpool. Edith Rose married Leopold Farmer and they had four children: Cecil, Mabel, Harold and Herbert.

The family lived for a while in Kingston, Jamaica and then returned to England. The Farmers/Isaacs were members of the Anglo-German Congregation in Jamaica in the 1870s.

Harold and Herbert were born in St John’s Woods, London.

Carla found this information in the 1881 census. The surname Farmer was believed to have been changed from Zeev-Wolf.

Maurice was the son of Morris and Louise Wise. He is Bernice’s cousin on her father Izzy Wise’s side.
