Two years later, the couple were married at Yad Hashmona, Israel, by Rabbi Nissim El-Maliach.

Shanna, a primary school teacher, is the daughter of Geoff Loveday, of Liverpool and the late Jackie Loveday, while Marc, a director of a government communications company, is the son of Janis and Steve Davis, of Sunnybank.

Best men were Andy and Adam Ross. Maid of honour was Gemma Loveday. Bridesmaid was Danni Davis.

Joining in the celebrations was the groom's grandmother Rhoda Rich, as well as guests from Britain and Israel.

After a honeymoon in the Maldives later this month, the couple will settle in Whitefield.
