Dramatic day for talented Issie

MULTI-talented Issie Levin celebrated her batmitzvah at the United Hebrew Congregation on Shabbat.

The Grammar School at Leeds pupil is the daughter of Louise and Richard Levin, of Alwoodley.

Issie's hobbies are speech and drama. She is also a volunteer at Donisthorpe Hall and a Leeds United fan.

Grandparents Dr Ronnie and Lola Levin together with Israeli relations Anthony and Gili Thwaites joined guests at the simcha.

Issie's sisters Sophie, 17, and 15-year-old Emma also attend GSAL.

CLASSICAL guitarist Max Mallerman hit a high note when he celebrated his barmitzvah at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation, Manchester.

The Manchester King David High School pupil is the son of Deborah and Robert Mallerman, of Radcliffe.

Joining in the celebrations were 16-year-old sister Thalia and grandparents Raymond Most and Valerie and Maurice Mallerman.

Manchester United fan Max is also an avid squash and tennis player and plays football for Manchester Maccabi.
