HANNAH Simons had a batmitzvah with a difference, as more than 60 families joined her for an online challah bake.
The 12-year-old daughter of Craig and Louisa Simons led the group in baking different kinds of challa.
Dad Craig said: “It surpassed all our expectations and we’re so happy that we were able to mark the occasion in such a special and meaningful way that none of us will ever forget.
While the dough was rising, Leeds Jewish Free School pupil Hannah, who has a 14-year-old brother, Jake, gave her dvar torah and a video of a speech was played from three of her best friends — Liora Green, Bella Baum and Poppy Straight.
Rabbi Jason Kleiman also gave a speech to Hannah and made presentations on behalf of the shul.
Following the speeches Hannah demonstrated how to plait four different challot.
