Jason's Caribbean queen

PAULETTE COHEN and Jason Reynolds were riding on a crest of a wave - four years after meeting on a Caribbean cruise.

The pair were married at Manchester's Midland Hotel by the Holy Law Synagogue's Rabbi Yossi Chazan.

Paulette is the daughter of Astrid and Charles Cohen, of Broughton Park, while Jason, a property manager, is the son of Linda Reynolds and Bill Reynolds, both of Rochester, New York.

Best man was Joe Cavallero. Bridesmaids were Charlotte Cohen, Esther Reynolds, Lindsay Jacobs, Jennifer Lazarus and Marcelle Rosenberg.

Guests from America joined in the celebrations, including the groom's grandparents, Esther and Morris Massry.

The couple have settled in Rochester and will honeymoon in the Caribbean later in the year.


Friend made introduction

Kate Tobias and Steve Jacobs were introduced to each other more than two years ago by a family friend.

And the pair were married at Heaton Park Hebrew Congegation by Rabbi Daniel Walker.

Kate, the daughter of Joanne and Norman Tobias, of Prestwich, is a catering manager, while Steve, an employment assistant, is the son of Pam and Ivor Jacobs, of Crumpsall.

Best men were Mo Groundland and Dave Binder. Bridesmaids were Carly Groundland and Melody Bernhardt. Pageboy was Jack Tobias.

After a honeymoon in New York and Las Vegas, the couple have settled in Crumpsall.


Son gave his mum away

ROCHELLE Newman and Howard Scott were married at Beth Hamidrash Hagadol Synagogue on Sunday.

Rochelle, whose son Joey gave her away, is an inclusion support worker and daughter of Elayne and Anthony Taylor.

Howard, an account executive, is the son of Wendy and Stanley Scott. Best men were Anthony Scott and Elliot Landy.

Bridesmaids were Rochelle's daughters, Charlotte and Emma Newman, her nieces Talia and Amy Masser, and Howard's niece Elana Scott.

Rochelle's grandma, Bella (Bubba) Jacobs, joined in the celebrations.

The couple, who met locally and were neighbours, honeymooned in Paphos and have settled in Alwoodley.


Love on Camp America

A COUPLE who met at Camp America six years ago were married in New York on Sunday.

Colin Strang and Alyssa Kostiner kept in touch and met up every summer.

Colin, the son of Gill and Melvyn Strang, of Giffnock, is a metal trading broker, while Alyssa, the daughter of Sharon and Ariel Kostiner, of Buffalo, New York, is a teacher.

Best man was Adam Lovatt. Bridesmaids were Dani Kostiner and Maddie Sandler.

The groom's grandparents Rita and Philip Strang and Eva Delmonte, as well as the bride's grandmother Carol Davis joined in the celebrations.

More than 60 Scots crossed the Atlantic, with the majority of them wearing kilts for the wedding.

Colin and Alyssa are honeymooning in Scotland and will hold a party for family and friends on Sunday at Glasgow Maccabi, before returning to America and settling in Manhattan.
