THE new National Library of Israel in Jerusalem is not just housing collections of modern and rare volumes and manuscripts, but is actually one gigantic book.
It is heaven for art and history lovers, housed in an out-of-this-world architectural gem of a multi-storey, magical building sitting close to the Israeli Knesset, Supreme Court and the Israel Museum.
The National Library of Israel is constructed from hewn white stone and massive expanses of glass.
It is magnetically attractive to the eye — the design almost regal, certainly graceful and truly beautiful, especially when tucked under a deep blue sky on a crisp winter’s day.
